The 67 years old State Transport and Sports minister, who left us on August, 2009, was the master of controversies though he lived in the hearts of thousands, lakhs. While alive, he suffered a lot because of his fellow party leaders, as they always tried to make him out of focus. But his helping hands towards the poor and will power brought him into the limelight. He's none other than the person with white panama hat.... "Subhas Chakraborty" or common man's "Subhas da".
His first step into politics through student Union made him an exceptional leader. He was totally surrounded by arguments throughout his life. Even when he went to the "tarapeeth temple"to worship the "mother Goddess", other leaders claimed that he could not worship as he's a communist, but in protest he delivered that he is a hindu first then a brahmin and after that a communist.
For him politics meant support of the "mango people" or "aam janata", in his words without public backing politics is nothing. He believed a real politician is someone who have number of people behind him or her.
A young boy from Bangladesh who lived with his relatives when he first came to Calcutta later shifted to FD block salt lake city, with his single speech crowd followed not once but everytime. Unlike other communist leadershe had communicated with the mass. "Jyoti Basu"was considered to him as his "guru" in politics.
He realised communism was very tough to follow. Other commrades criticised him, as he was always stayed in the centre, surrounded by laymen. Sometimes his fellow members believed flamboyance brought him into the position he was in.
People from various categories of the society showed their condolence in his funeral may it be a celebrity like Mithun Chakraborty, Sachin Tendulkar to the broken-hearted poor who don't even get a meal daily.
It is believed, he should have got the position much before but didn't get as he left everything for the common people. At last he achieved, more of it he wanted, got his position in the state ministry level. He was loved by the people and became one of the most popular CPI(M) leader who is immortal in the hearts of the millions.

Colour of Prosperity Spread over Bloody Shed....
If we travel back to last three decades.... we can see the colour of revolution covered the sky West Bengal.... there was no sign of greenaries.... for all long 32 years the Left Government has ruled out the state.. and never loose any election since 1977 when the Naxallite society ended. The party has been headed by eminent leaders like Jyoti Basu, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Anil Biswas, Biman Bose and others.
Many Factories have been closed under this long period of communist party rule.. and hundreds of workers died of hunger and some committed suicide because of Unemployment. Suddenly our respected Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya thought of helping the farmers of West Bengal, who are considered below the poverty level, by growing up industries in the outskirts, where this poor farmers dwell and grow crops.. to satisfy the appetites of their family members, which is obviously insufficient. Industrialization eliminates the financial crisis of a state or country.. But they had a peaceful life before the idea of industrialization struck the mind of our hon'ble CM..
The "Unlucky- 13"- of 13th march 2005 took away the breath of many people in a firing squad by West Bengal Police.. at Nandigram.... in the process of Land Acquisition. The mode of Land acquisition was not appropriate.... People find it wrong and protested. Hundreds of people in Singur and Nandigram lost their shelter to hide their soul from rain. Still it continued.. This mass destruction was the first point.. which erased the faith of common people, from the ruling party of WB.
Secondly, the Left Front withdrawl their support from United Progressive Alliance (UPA), just before the Nuclear deal, which was essential for the nation. So, people who knows the significance of this deal, moved against the Communist party. Thirdly, the local 'dadas' who like to collects 'hafta' mainly belongs to thye ruling party. If someone is unable to pay the asked amount, then he's shown the power of the party.. which is not at all fair.
The Left Front now don't have young leaders in the ministry level to encourage the young hearts, which is easily found in Congress like Sachin Pilot, Omar Abdullah, Rahul Gandhi, because of whom this year election has achieved a huge number of votes from Gen 'X'.
The sudden rise of TMC's power also played a great role removing the ruling party from Lok sabha election.. This is the first time it happened that a party got 19+1 seats among 42 seats in West Bengal. It's just like a 'dream come true' for the TMC supporters. TMC is considered as "one man's army", Where our own "didi", Mamata Banerjee struggled a lot in her whole life to get into this position. Some people thinks that she is not apt for the place she is in.. but her deliberate help to the common people, the steps too she had taken for "Aila" has not taken by the ruling party.. even the left front too asked them to join them in the escaping work. And Mamata Banerjee is the first to take steps as soon as "Aila" shown her activities in Gosaba.... not our state Government.

Snake Charmers? Or the ChaRmS of SnAkEs
Kolkata is the city of various combinations.. Here one can find each and every stuffs with their opposites, out here no one knows what's waiting for them to happen.... in the streets of the City of Joy.
One fine day Mrs. Banerjee with her heavenly beliefs lost a hundred rupees note.... why???? She did nothing.. she just tried to make that note "Lucky" for herself, by touching a snake with that note, it's just her bad luck... the snake uncertainly fanged at her and gobbled that note.... Hence she had to loose that note inside the snakes apetite.
Whatever we see in this world.. Is that always true???? NO! It's not. Every morning some kids get dressed like 'Lord Shiva' and 'Ma Manasha'- the Goddess of the snakes. These kids moves around the streets of Kolkata like Rashbehari, Park street, New market and etc,. carrying snakes with them in a bag. They just asks the foot walkers to offer a coin or two to 'Lord Shiva' to be blessed, and to make themselves lucky they may touch touch the snake with a ten or hundred rupees note. When people believes them and touch the snakes with it.. the snakes react with all it's active hood and people gets scraed, within an instinct the kids vanishes the note and people thinks, that the snake swallowed it.
There is a big racket which has been spread all over the city, which have changed the mode of earning money. Earlier the Snake Charmers used to think for their job satisfaction instead of earning money.. they were happy entertaining their audience........ But now, those days are gone..... the World has changed and the determination of people too.
So, instead of 'entertaining those kids grew the business of cheating people. these kids really work hard to confuse others.. But police never detected or arrested the main Culprits who are continuing these business. This is the profession of 7 years old Mina and 10 years old Bhutiya. They don't even know since when they are into this job? Who brought them in?whom did they first cheat? at what age?
These fine brains are now just utilised for cheating and confusing others, not for going to school or studying like other children of the society.
